| On Wednesday, June 8th, the LHS Advanced Band put on a performance of Peter and the Wolf for the Ledyard Center Elementary School. This event was held in Gaucher Auditorium and was a repeat of the performance put on for the Pops 2000 concert. Seniors Ashley Leighton and Chris Drexler narrated the performance. After the musical portion of the show, students went into the audience to share their knowledge of music and their instruments with the very interested students from LCS. This experience not only fueled the enthusiasm of the younger students in attendance, but gave the LHS Band members an opportunity to give back to future LHS musicians. The program was a huge success and was made possible by a suggestion and monetary donation by Mrs. Lynn Davis at the High School. Thanks to the everyone involved for making this day one to remember for a long time to come! |
