Instrumental Music Director
Thomas Green |

Ledyard High School Instrumental Music Teacher Thomas Green is a native of Columbus, Ohio. He began his musical career in elementary school as a cellist. In high school he added electric and acoustic bass, and continued with all three instruments as a music education major at Capital University. Two years of freelance work as well as private teaching led to his acceptance at New York's Manhattan School of Music. Tom completed graduate studies with a major in orchestral literature and performance. Prior to his employment at Ledyard High School, he was the principal bassist with the United States Coast Guard Band, stationed in New London, CT. Along with freelance work with both jazz and classical groups, Tom was accepted to the prestigious Solti Project at Carnegie Hall. The project showcased the talents of young musicians from throughout the United States and involved performances in Carnegie Hall under the direction of Maestro Solti. In his time away from Ledyard High School, Tom continues as the principal bass with the Eastern Connecticut Symphony Orchestra. In a well deserved honor, the Class of 1999 dedicated their yearbook to Mr. Green. Click on the link below to see what they had to say! |
